Évangile de Jésus-Christ selon saint Jean 20,2-8.
Le premier jour de la semaine, Marie Madeleine courut trouver Simon-Pierre et l’autre disciple, celui que Jésus aimait, et elle leur dit : « On a enlevé le Seigneur de son tombeau, et nous ne savons pas où on l’a déposé. » Pierre partit donc avec l’autre disciple pour se rendre au tombeau. Ils couraient tous les deux ensemble, mais l’autre disciple courut plus vite que Pierre et arriva le premier au tombeau. En se penchant, il s’aperçoit que les linges sont posés à plat ; cependant il n’entre pas. Simon-Pierre, qui le suivait, arrive à son tour. Il entre dans le tombeau ; il aperçoit les linges, posés à plat, ainsi que le suaire qui avait entouré la tête de Jésus, non pas posé avec les linges, mais roulé à part à sa place. C’est alors qu’entra l’autre disciple, lui qui était arrivé le premier au tombeau. Il vit, et il crut.

RÉFLEXION
Il vit, et il crut.

Heureux ceux qui n’ont pas vu, et qui ont cru (Jean 20:29), dira plus tard Jésus à Thomas, un autre de Ses disciples qui demandait à Le voir pour croire en Sa résurrection !

Voilà deux disciples de Jésus-Christ : Jean et Thomas, qui l’ont entendu, vu de leurs yeux, contemplé et touché de leurs mains mains, et qui se mettent à douter (1 Jean 1,1-4.) alors qu’ils ont été choisis par Lui, formés par Lui pour propager Sa Bonne Nouvelle au monde entier!

Non seulement leurs doutes ont du quelque peu ébranler leur foi, mais ils viennent aujourd’hui nous prévenir de faire bien attention à notre foi, car elle est beaucoup plus en danger, vu que nous sommes arrivés plus de 2000 ans après les premiers disciples, et que nous n’avons pas vu, ni entendu, ni même contempler, encore moins toucher Jésus-Christ ?

Que dis-Tu Ô Saint-Esprit ?

Et Le Saint-Esprit répondit :

En effet petit coeur, et ce que je vous conseille à nouveau c’est de ne pas vous fiez à tout esprit mais mettez les esprits à l’épreuve pour savoir s’ils sont de Dieu, car plusieurs prétendus prophètes sont venus dans le monde.

Voici comment vous reconnaîtrez l’Esprit de Dieu : tout esprit qui proclame que Jésus Christ est venu dans la chair, celui-là est de Dieu.Tout esprit qui refuse de proclamer Jésus, celui-là n’est pas de Dieu : c’est l’esprit de l’anti-Christ, dont on vous a annoncé la venue et qui, dès maintenant, est déjà dans le monde.

Vous, petits enfants, vous êtes de Dieu, et vous avez vaincu ces gens-là ; car Celui qui est en vous est plus grand que celui qui est dans le monde. Eux, ils sont du monde ; voilà pourquoi ils parlent le langage du monde, et le monde les écoute. Vous vous êtes de Dieu ; celui qui connaît Dieu vous écoute ; celui qui n’est pas de Dieu ne vous écoute pas. C’est ainsi que vous reconnaitrez l’esprit de la vérité et l’esprit de l’erreur.

Here is the translation into English of this Reflection as per the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 20:2-8.

On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene ran to find Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and she said to them, “They have taken away the Lord from his tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” So Peter went out with the other disciple to go to the tomb. They were both running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first. Stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. Simon Peter, who was following him, arrived at the tomb and went inside. He saw the linen cloths lying there, as well as the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head, not lying with the linen cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went in; he saw and believed.

REFLECTION

He saw, and he believed.

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed (John 20:29), Jesus later said to Thomas, another of His disciples who asked to see Him to believe in His resurrection!

Here are two disciples of Jesus Christ: John and Thomas, who heard, saw with their own eyes, gazed upon, and touched with their hands, (1 John 1:1-4), and yet they begin to doubt ! Even though they were chosen by Him and trained by Him to spread His Good News to the entire world…

Not only did their doubts perhaps shake their faith somewhat, but today they warn us to be very careful with our faith, because it is much more in danger now, since we are over 2000 years after the first disciples, and we have not seen, heard, or even gazed upon, much less touched, Jesus Christ.

What do You say, O Holy Spirit?

And the Holy Spirit replied:

Indeed, little heart, and what I advise you again is not to trust every spirit, but to test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Here is how you will recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God. But every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

You, little children, are from God, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world; that is why they speak the language of the world, and the world listens to them. But you are of God; he who knows God listens to you. Whoever is not of God does not listen to you. By this, you will recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
