Évangile de Jésus-Christ selon saint Luc 13,1-9.

Un jour, des gens rapportèrent à Jésus l’affaire des Galiléens que Pilate avait fait massacrer, mêlant leur sang à celui des sacrifices qu’ils offraient. Jésus leur répondit : « Pensez-vous que ces Galiléens étaient de plus grands pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens, pour avoir subi un tel sort ? Eh bien, je vous dis : pas du tout ! Mais si vous ne vous convertissez pas, vous périrez tous de même. Et ces dix-huit personnes tuées par la chute de la tour de Siloé, pensez-vous qu’elles étaient plus coupables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem ?
Eh bien, je vous dis : pas du tout ! Mais si vous ne vous convertissez pas, vous périrez tous de même. » Jésus disait encore cette parabole : « Quelqu’un avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne. Il vint chercher du fruit sur ce figuier, et n’en trouva pas. Il dit alors à son vigneron : “Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher du fruit sur ce figuier, et je n’en trouve pas. Coupe-le. À quoi bon le laisser épuiser le sol ?” Mais le vigneron lui répondit : “Maître, laisse-le encore cette année, le temps que je bêche autour pour y mettre du fumier. Peut-être donnera-t-il du fruit à l’avenir. Sinon, tu le couperas.” »

RÉFLEXION

Un arbre fruitier a été mis en terre pour porter des fruits. S’il n’en porte pas, il ne sert à rien qu’à épuiser le sol ! Le jardinier doit alors se rendre à l’évidence : il faut le retrancher, se débarrasser de lui, le couper.

Ainsi sont les êtres humains sur la Terre ~ le Jardin de Dieu ~ comme des plantes mises en terre pour devenir des arbres qui vont fructifier par tout le bien qu’ils feront, et progresser dans la vraie connaissance de Dieu pour devenir et être l’expression de Dieu les uns pour les autres, comme nous a enseigné Son Fils bien-aimé Jésus-Christ.  Lui qui est, je cite > « l’image du Dieu invisible, le premier-né, avant toute créature : en Lui, tout fut créé, dans le ciel et sur la terre »,  est pour nous : Le Modèle et Le Maître par excellence. Qui se met à Son École et met en pratique Ses Enseignements, plait à Dieu, et Dieu exauce ses demandes.

Quelqu’un un jour m’a posé cette question : peux-t-on avoir une relation avec Dieu sans appartenir à une religion ?  Et je lui ai répondu : Dieu est Amour, Dieu est La Vérité, Il est Juste, Il est bon, patient et miséricordieux ! Qui vit dans la vérité, qui est bon et juste envers son prochain et ne lui fait pas de mal, qui est patient et miséricordieux envers lui, et enseigne à ses enfants et au monde autour de lui, à faire de même, est de Dieu ! Dieu Le connaît!

Puis, sur un plan plus personnel, j’ai ajouté que, depuis que j’ai personnellement ‘rencontré‘ Dieu, qu’Il m’a fait grâce de mes nombreuses fautes et accordé Son Esprit, Lui-même m’a détachée de la ‘religion’, et appris à privilégier ma ‘relation’ avec Lui,  tout comme Jésus le faisait!  Depuis, ma relation avec mon prochain dans le besoin s’est améliorée, et ma foi en Dieu s’est affermie.

• Ais-je bien répondu Ô Saint-Esprit ? Que dis-Tu ?

Et Le Saint-Esprit répondit :

En effet petit coeur, tu connais bien ton Papa des Cieux  ! À ce que tu as déjà dit, j’ajouterai encore ceci : Heureux l’homme qui ne suit pas le conseil des méchants, qui ne s’arrête pas sur la voie des pécheurs et ne s’assied pas en compagnie des moqueurs,  ne siège pas avec ceux qui ricanent, mais se plaît dans la loi du Seigneur et murmure sa loi jour et nuit ! Il est comme un arbre planté près d’un ruisseau,  qui donne du fruit en son temps, et jamais son feuillage ne meurt ; tout ce qu’il entreprend réussira. Quand à ton époux et toi, vous qui avez choisis le Chemin de la relation plutôt que celui de la religion, conservez votre joie, continuez à prier et à rendre grâce à Dieu en toute occasion.

Here is the English version of the reflection based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 13:1-9:

One day, some people reported to Jesus about the Galileans whom Pilate had massacred, mixing their blood with that of the sacrifices they offered. Jesus replied to them: “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such a fate? I tell you: no, not at all! But unless you repent, you will all perish as well. And those eighteen people who died when the tower of Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the other inhabitants of Jerusalem? I tell you: no, not at all! But unless you repent, you will all perish as well.” Jesus then told this parable: “Someone had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. He came looking for fruit on it, but found none. He said to the gardener: ‘For three years now I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down. Why should it waste the soil?’ But the gardener replied: ‘Sir, leave it alone this year, too; I’ll dig around it and put manure on it. If it bears fruit next year, well and good; if not, then you can cut it down.'”

REFLECTION

A fruit tree has been planted to bear fruit. If it does not bear any, there is no point in exhausting the soil for it! The gardener must then face the reality: it must be uprooted, discarded, cut down.

Such are human beings on Earth—the Garden of God—like plants put into the ground to become trees that will bear fruit through all the good they do, and to grow in true knowledge of God, becoming and expressing God to one another, as His beloved Son Jesus Christ taught us. He, who is, I quote, “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation: for in Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth,” is for us: the Perfect Model and Master. Those who enter His School and put His Teachings into practice please God, and God grants their requests.

Someone once asked me: can one have a relationship with God without belonging to a religion? And I replied: God is Love, God is Truth, He is Just, He is Good, patient, and merciful! Whoever lives in truth, who is good to their neighbor and does no harm to him, who is patient and merciful towards him, and teaches his children and the world around him to do the same, is of God!

Then, on a more personal level, I added that since I personally ‘met’ God, that He has shown mercy for my many faults and granted me His Spirit, He Himself has detached me from ‘religion’ and taught me to prioritize my ‘relationship’ with Him, just as Jesus did! Since then, my relationship with others in need has improved, and my faith in God has strengthened.

And the Holy Spirit replied:

Indeed, little heart, you know your Heavenly Father well! Based on what you’ve already said, I will add this: Blessed is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked, who does not stand in the way of sinners, and does not sit with mockers, but delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on His law day and night! He is like a tree planted beside streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and its leaf does not wither; whatever he does prospers. As for your husband and yourself, who have chosen the Path of relationship rather than that of religion, I would say :  keep your joy, continue to pray, and give thanks to God in all circumstances.
