Évangile de Jésus-Christ selon saint Luc 6,12-19

En ces jours-là, Jésus partit sur la montagne pour prier, et il passa toute la nuit à prier Dieu. Le matin venu, il appela ses disciples et en choisit douze qu’il nomma Apôtres : Simon, auquel il donna le nom de Pierre ; son frère André ; Jacques, Jean ; Philippe ; Barthélemy ; Matthieu ; Thomas ; Jacques, fils d’Alphée ; Simon appelé le Zélote ; Jude, fils de Jacques ; et Judas Iscariote, qui allait devenir traître. Jésus descendit de la montagne avec eux et s’arrêta sur un terrain plat. Une grande foule de ses disciples et une multitude de gens venus de toute la Judée, de Jérusalem, ainsi que du littoral de Tyr et de Sidon, s’était rassemblée pour l’entendre et pour se faire guérir de leurs maladies. Ceux qui étaient tourmentés par des esprits impurs retrouvaient la santé. Toute la foule cherchait à le toucher, car une force sortait de lui et guérissait tous.

RÉFLEXION

“Toute la foule cherchait à le toucher, parce qu’une force sortait de lui et les guérissait tous.”

Cette force de guérison, qui émanait du Christ, venait de l’Esprit de Dieu, dont il était rempli et qui habitait en lui. Tous ceux et celles qui, après son retour auprès du Père, ont cru en lui, ont hérité de cette même puissance, devenant ainsi « les éléments d’une même construction pour devenir une demeure de Dieu par l’Esprit Saint » (Éphésiens 2,19-22).

C’est là le miracle de la foi véritable — cette foi authentique, don de Dieu qu’Il accorde par l’intermédiaire de Jésus-Christ et par le Saint-Esprit, à ceux qui ardemment désirent Le connaître et manifestent un intérêt sincère en s’inscrivant à l’École de Jésus-Christ.

Dans un esprit de partage, voici un extrait de la lettre que j’ai écrite à Jésus lors du premier jour de mon entrée à Son Université:

Quelques semaines plus tard, lors d’un cours sur l’Ancien Testament, grâce à une Parole de Dieu révélée par Son prophète Jérémie, et prononcée par le frère qui nous faisais le cours, je me suis retrouvée dans les bras puissants et remplis d’amour de Dieu, recevant Son Esprit de Vérité!

Dès lors, je suis consciente que Dieu est en train de bâtir une demeure en moi — me façonnant afin que je devienne l’hôtesse d’une des pièces de cette Maison à l’aile de Sa Miséricorde si peu comprise du monde.

• Ais-je bien discerné, Ô Saint-Esprit ?

Et Le Saint-Esprit répondit: 

“Vous me chercherez, et vous me trouverez si vous me cherchez de tout votre cœur,” dit Dieu par la bouche de Son prophète Jérémie, que tu connais bien, petit cœur. (Jérémie 29:13) Tu as cherché Dieu en Jésus-Christ de tout ton coeur, et cette lettre en témoigne! C’est pourquoi Dieu s’est révélé à toi et t’a confié à Moi. Malheur à ceux qui parlent du mal de toi, qui tentent de changer en ténèbres la lumière que je suis en toi, et qui, ce faisant, cherchent à te tourmenter et à troubler ta paix ! (Ésaïe 5:20) Dieu a voulu de toi dans Son Équipe. À présent va, mon petit, et ne crains rien de ceux qui t’assaillent, car moim l’Esprit de Vérité, demeure avec toi.

Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 6:12-19

In those days, Jesus went up to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. When morning came, He called His disciples and chose twelve of them, whom He named Apostles: Simon, whom He named Peter; his brother Andrew; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James son of Alphaeus; Simon called the Zealot; Jude son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who would eventually betray Him. Jesus descended from the mountain with them and stood on a level ground. A large crowd of His disciples and a multitude of people from all Judea, Jerusalem, and the coastal regions of Tyre and Sidon had gathered to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by unclean spirits found relief. The entire crowd sought to touch Him because power was coming out from Him and healing them all.

REFLECTION

“The whole crowd sought to touch Him, because power was coming out from Him and healing them all.”

This healing power emanating from Christ came from the Spirit of God, whom He was filled with and who dwelled within Him. All those who, after His return to the Father, believed in Him inherited this same power and became—“the members of one body to become a dwelling place of God through the Spirit” (Ephesians 2:19-22).

This is the miracle of true faith — genuine faith — the gift of God that He grants through the intercession of Jesus Christ and the mediation of the Holy Spirit, to those who earnestly desire to know Him and show sincere interest by enrolling in the School of Jesus Christ.

In the spirit of sharing, here is an excerpt from the letter I wrote to Jesus on the first day of my entry into His University:

A few weeks later, during a course on The Ancient Testament, thanks to a Word of God spoken by His prophet Jeremiah, and by the priest who was in charge of this course, I found myself in God’s mighty and loving arms, receiving His Spirit of Truth!

From then on, I am conscious that God is building His dwelling within me — shaping me so that I become the hostess of one of the rooms of His House, within the wing of His Mercy, unfortunately so little understood by a great part of the World.

• What do You say, O Holy Spirit? Have I understood well ? 

And the Holy Spirit replied: 

Through the mouth of His prophet Jeremiah, whom you know well, little heart, God said and it is written : “You will seek Me and find Me if you seek Me with all your heart.”   (Jeremiah 29:13) You sought God with all your heart in Jesus Christ, and this letter bears witness to that! That is why God revealed Himself to you and entrusted you to Me. Woe to those who speak evil of you, who try to turn the light within you into darkness, and in doing so, try to trouble your soul and disturb your peace! (Isaiah 5:20)  God sought you to be in His Team ! 

Now go, my little one, and fear not those who oppose you, for I, Spirit of Truth, remain with you.
