Évangile de Jésus-Christ selon saint Luc 21,1-4.

En ce temps-là, comme Jésus enseignait dans le Temple, levant les yeux, il vit les gens riches qui mettaient leurs offrandes dans le Trésor. Il vit aussi une veuve misérable y mettre deux petites pièces de monnaie. Alors il déclara : « En vérité, je vous le dis : cette pauvre veuve a mis plus que tous les autres. Car tous ceux-là, pour faire leur offrande, ont pris sur leur superflu mais elle, elle a pris sur son indigence : elle a mis tout ce qu’elle avait pour vivre. »

En mettant dans le Trésor tout ce qu’elle avait pour vivre, la pauvre veuve avait-t-elle fait preuve d’intelligence et de prévoyance ? Avait-elle agit avec sagesse en prenant sur son indigence  ?

Le riche qui n’a jamais du avoir recours à La Providence, dirait d’elle qu’elle est folle ! Et beaucoup dans le monde d’aujourd’hui diraient de même! Mais là n’est pas l’avis du Fils de Dieu, Parole de Dieu sur Terre. Il a vu en son geste, une générosité exemplaire, une confiance absolue et une espérance aveugle en La Providence ! Il a vu en cette pauvre veuve l’arbre qui, planté près de l’eau, étend ses racines vers le cours d’eau, et ne s’aperçoit pas de la venue de la chaleur ! De sorte que son feuillage reste toujours vert, même lors d’une année de sécheresse, car il ne redoute rien et ne cesse pas de porter du fruit ! (Jérémie 17:7-8)

Par contre, tous ceux qui, pour faire leur offrande, avaient pris sur leur superflu, Il a du les comparer à ces hommes esclaves de l’argent, qui s’appuient sur leurs richesses pour leur bonheur, tandis que leur cœur se détourne du Seigneur. Puisque l’Homme ne peut servir Dieu et L’Argent, soit il va aimer un et méprisera l’autre, (Jésus-Christ,  Matthieu 6:24), ceux qui ont choisis de donner leur vie à l’Argent, sont comme des buissons sur une terre désolée, et ne voient pas venir le bonheur. Ils ont pour demeure les lieux arides du désert, une terre salée, inhabitable. (Jérémie 17:5)

Écoutons Le Conseil du Saint-Esprit dans ce cas:

« Confie-toi en l’Éternel de tout ton cœur, et ne t’appuie pas sur ton intelligence ! Reconnais-le dans toutes tes voies, et il rendra tes sentiers droits. » (Proverbes 3:5-6)  

Amen Merci Ô Saint-Esprit. Inspirés par Toi et au Nom de Jésus-Christ notre Sauveur, nous prions notre Père qui est aux Cieux…☦️

Père céleste, 
Nous venons humblement devant Toi, priant pour les pauvres et les riches. 
Pour ceux qui manquent des nécessités quotidiennes, accorde-leur Ta provision, du réconfort et de l’espoir. Ouvre des portes d’opportunité et remplis leur cœur de Ta paix. 
Pour ceux qui sont bénis par l’abondance, rappelle-leur Ta générosité, et aide-les à bien gérer leurs bénédictions. Inspire-les à partager avec ceux qui sont dans le besoin et à agir avec bonté et compassion. 
Puissions-nous tous avoir confiance en Ta divine providence et chercher à servir les autres avec amour. Enseigne-nous à être contents en toutes circonstances et à nous souvenir que la vraie richesse se trouve dans l’amour pour Toi et pour notre prochain.

Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 21:1-4

At that time, as Jesus was teaching in the Temple, He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the Treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two small coins. Then He said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all the others. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty, put in all she had to live on.

REFLECTION

“She put in all she had to live on”

By putting all she had into the treasury to live on, did the poor widow show intelligence and foresight? Did she act wisely by taking from her poverty?

The rich, who have never had to rely on Providence, would say that she is foolish! And many in today’s world would say the same! But that is not the opinion of the Son of God, the Word of God on Earth. He saw in her act an exemplary generosity, and a blind trust and hope in Providence! He saw in this poor widow the tree that, planted near water, extends its roots toward the stream, and does not notice the coming heat! So that its foliage remains always green, even during a year of drought, because it fears nothing and ceases not to bear fruit! (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

On the other hand, all those who, to make their offering, took from their surplus, He had to compare to those men enslaved by money, who rely on their riches for happiness, while their hearts turn away from the Lord. And because no man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other, (Jésus-Christ, Matthew 6:24),  such men who choose to serve and depend on their wealth,  are like bushes in a desolate land, and do not see happiness coming. Their dwelling place is the arid places of the desert, a salty, uninhabitable land. (Jeremiah 17:5)

Let’s listen to The Holy Sprit Advice in such a case : 

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding! In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Thank you Ô Holy Spirit. Inspired by You, and in the Name of Jésus-Christ,  we pray to God our Heavenly Father. 

Heavenly Father, 
We come before You with humble hearts, praying for both the poor and the wealthy. 
For those who lack daily necessities, grant them Your provision, comfort, and hope. Open doors of opportunity and fill their hearts with Your peace. 
For those who are blessed with abundance, remind them of Your generosity, and help them to be good stewards of their blessings. Inspire them to share with those in need and to act with kindness and compassion. 
May we all trust in Your divine provision and seek to serve others with love. Teach us to be content in all circumstances and to remember that true riches are found in loving You and helping our neighbours. Amen +
